This is a duplex style condominium. It was a vacant, bank owned property, that had been on the
market for almost a year. The interior of the property was in very poor condition. Most of the
doors had holes punched in them, the kitchen and bathrooms were disgusting, the entire house
reeked of pet urine..... Yet, we knew it was the RIGHT property for us!
Sitting on a residential street across the street from a lovely park, this two
bedroom property would be the perfect home for a family.
The new plan for the kitchen included making
better use of the existing space. The new layout
allowed for the addition of extra cabinets and a
full size dishwasher and garbage disposal.
Additional lighting was added to brighten up the room. The
stainless steel appliances were nicely accented by the
brushed nickel fixtures. A laminate counter top with the
right mix of colors really brought the whole room together.
The back door leads directly into a fenced yard.
After a few necessary repairs and a fresh coat of
paint the back deck turned into a great place to relax.
A coat of fresh paint in a warm earth tones on the walls
with bright white doors and trim, along with gleaming oak
floors finished the first floor with our distinct Tuscan style.
The first floor bath had a complete make over! This
style of vanity with a matching mirror is one of our
favorites for a small space. It has a narrow footprint
with a full size bowl. An earth tone ceramic tile floor,
fresh coat of paint and new fixtures through-out really
completed the total transformation.
A brand new carpet in a neutral beige was installed on the
stairs, hallway, and in the bedrooms. A ceiling light with
wall switch and three prong outlets were added to both
bedrooms. The upstairs was finished in a muted shade with
bright white trim.
In the upstairs bathroom, we found something worth keeping: a fairly new
bathtub and tub surround that with a substantial amount of cleaning looked
terrific. Earth toned ceramic tile floors, a lovely vanity cabinet with a
marble top, matching medicine cabinet, fresh coat of Polar White bathroom
paint and new fixtures through out finished the bathroom.
A nice Berber carpet now covers the stairs leading into the
basement where you will find another full bathroom. With
a ceramic tile floor and new full size Maytag appliances,
the laundry area was a nice addition to property. A
ceramic tile floor, vanity cabinet with matching mirror and
new fixtures through out finish the second bath.
The back room and hallway were carpeted with the same nice
Berber that was used on the stairs. The front room was tiled in a
lovely earth tone ceramic and closet doors were installed to hide
the systems making this room perfect for a home office or den.
The addition of new flooring and recessed lighting along with a
coat of fresh paint turned this dark, dingy basement into really
great usable space. This is a GREAT HOME FOR A FAMILY!!!!
